Jericho Road has added two young professionals to their team. Jan Koszewski, who was awarded a fellowship through the Grinnell Corps, and Lisa Kamuf, a University of New Orleans student doing an Independent Study with Jericho Road, are both contributing their time and effort to Jericho Road.
Jericho Road Director of Operations and Communications Holly Heine said, “We are thrilled to have Jan and Lisa’s fresh enthusiasm and new perspectives! We look forward to working with them and showing them the great work Jericho Road is doing in this community empowering people to reach their dreams.”
Jan Koszewski began work with Jericho Road this month and will be assisting primarily with the Housing Program. He will also help with the development and maintenance of multimedia presentations, mapping progress of targeted neighborhood development and coordinating with neighborhood organizers to name a few.
Jan is in New Orleans through Grinnell Corps, Grinnell College one-year fellowship program. The fellowship program is for volunteers who demonstrate commitment to community service and social justice.
Lisa Kamuf, a resident of the Gentilly neighborhood of New Orleans, is obtaining her Masters in Urban and Regional Planning at the University of New Orleans. After reading an article in The Times Picayune about Universal Design, Lisa was impressed by Jericho Road’s efforts. and requested to do an Independent Study with Jericho Road for her summer semester.
As part of her Independent Study, she will be creating a pamphlet to educate new homeowners on the benefits of universal design. Lisa will also assist with the development of a potential Post-Purchase Counseling program to help homeowners maintain the financial balance needed to continue as successful homeowners. |
